Frequently Asked Questions

What insurance plans do you accept?

Please review our insurance information page for more information about the insurance plans we accept.

What should I bring with me to my first appointment?

Prior to coming to the office you can download, print and fill out the Patient Registration Form and the HIPAA Form. Doing this will help speed up the process of your first visit. Also, bring your current insurance information, any medications you are currently taking and be prepared to discuss medical history, as well as any relevant personal issues. You can read more about your first appointment in the Gynecology Section.

What should I do if I miss a birth control pill?

Depending on the type of birth control pill and where you are in your cycle, there are different answers to this question. Please see the Planned Parenthood link for more information.

Is irregular bleeding common when starting a new birth control?

Many women experience irregular bleeding when starting a new birth control method. If the bleeding is abnormally heavy or lasts more than a few weeks, contact your CWP Physician.

Is it necessary to have a pelvic exam each year, even if I have already had a hysterectomy?

Yes. If your cervix was not removed, you still need an annual pap smear to check for abnormal cells. If your cervix was removed as part of the hysterectomy, it is not as important. However, it is an opportunity for the doctor to examine internally for masses.

I am no longer having my monthly period because of menopause. When should I start to worry about new onset vaginal bleeding?

Call your doctor immediately.
